Transformation New Town Hall, Prague 7 (CZ)

About This Project

The New Town Hall in Prague 7 has a strong identity and is the figurehead of the area. A modern building with an “open” look to the community to show what happens inside. The concept is based on a re-use / reconstruction of a building from the eighties designed by the state design institute Elektroprojekta Praha.

The proposed new building is an icon of energy with its spiral shaped indoor open area which functions as the lung of the building. This area also establishes contact between staff, and visitors in a natural way. A clear and clever division between informal / public areas and workspace gives the building a new open innovative and inviting appearance.
